I am not saying goodbye to my Ukraine.

Maidan Square

Maidan Square

During the summer of 2012 we planned a 4 week trip to Ukraine so that I could finally see my wife’s country. Until then my view of Ukraine was mostly shaped by the BBC, Al Jazeera and some anecdotes from my wife. Whenever my wife would start talking about Ukraine her emotions would overcome her and I could see the pain in her eyes. I could see the immense frustration and disappointment in the world but I did not understand it much.

The battle for Ukraine not told on your mainstream media

The simplistic narrative being sold in the mainstream media is that a peaceful protest has succeeded and now an evil Russia is trying to invade the country. This cannot be farther than the truth.

This article below is a good summary of the “peaceful protest” movements that, surprise surprise, serve the agenda of the empire (US).

How the west manufactures “opposition” : http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/02/03/west-manufactures-opposition-movements/

There is a lot of detail that can be researched, start with OTPOR which is a Serbian CIA sponsored movement whose cadres have been spotted training Egyptians,Ukrainians and others.

Here is a small clip on OTPOR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4O0DBvDIPbM

The NED (National Endowment for Democracy) which funds OTPOR now known as CANVAS (again an organization that was inciting violence in Ukraine) has been instrumental in “protests” against legitimately elected governments. Most recent targets have been Ukraine and Venezuela. Here is a piece about NED in Venezuela:

Now, to the corporate/neo-liberal agenda: This is important in understanding whats going on. This has been seen in Kenya,Uganda,Rwanda,Nigeria,Libya,Iraq, Latin America etc. It goes like this: Put in place a western sympathetic government either by force or engineered “peaceful protests” and start privatizing state assets and remove public goods and allow for flight of capital. This agenda is usually aided with IMF and World Bank loans. As it happens, Ukraine has already been offered an IMF loan :).

Here is a link showing some of the manipulation of public opinion in Ukraine: http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/02/28/ukrainian-democracy-a-barrier-to-washingtons-goals/

It is hard to go back and dig all the information but this article gives a good overview of the US agenda for Ukraine: http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/02/27/wither-ukraine/

Furthermore, I would urge everyone to read the EU Association Agreement which the legitimately elected democratic government of Ukraine refused to sign. Corruption does not legitimize the coup by US/EU sponsored thugs and lobotomized youth, but i digress.

Here is a small analysis of what the EU deal would mean:

You can read the rape, loot and plunder agreement directly here: http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2013/april/tradoc_150981.pdf

In the end the EU would make it cheaper for the Ukrainians to buy German goods, kill off the coal industry and basically make it a hollow client economy of the west consuming western goods. Local production would halt just as the EU paid Irish farmers to stop in order to buy from the EU, in the end we all know what happened there. This is classic neo-liberalism.

So much so are the “opposition” paid off that Tymoshenko, who is hailed in the west, is on record for vowing to shut down the coal mines in the East. What kind of leader vows to annihilate local industry based on an abundant natural resource???

Other agreements being promoted by the US across the world would also give corporates sovereignty over national laws. Yes, at first it seems science fiction but take a look at the TPPA and TTIP.

Here is a snapshot:

Now, back to Ukraine in the above context. Here is an audio recording of the assistant secretary of state Victoria Nuland organizing the coup in Kiev with the US ambassador: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv7qy7jot30

It must be noted that the suggested PM is now the one tipped to win :). Also, most of these “opposition leaders” just like in Venezuela are elites educated in the west and have a very pro-EU/US neo-liberal agenda.

The evidence is all out there for what has been happening but you will not come across it on BBC/CNN/New York Times/Washington Post or any main stream media for that matter. Once you start digging and reading the other side of the story it all falls into place.

I suggest you start reading these two sources for starters and find your way to more independent reporting.

The biased reporting is clear in how they keep calling an unelected illegally appointed person the “PM of Ukraine” and continuously distort the ground reality of Russian support for action.

The kiev coup was organized through $5 billion in funding (admitted openly by Victoria Nuland) through NGOs and “democracy” initiatives. The thugs used to brutalize the initially peaceful riot police were shipped in neo nazis from western Ukraine who now openly roam the streets of beautiful Kiev. The protesters were not and never will be the majority of Ukraine as US/EU state propaganda proclaims and they were a violent crown who petrol bombed and shot police. There is ample evidence of that.

The neo-liberal media will show pictures of old ladies while ignoring the fact that the riot police initially were not even armed until neo nazis started burning them. This is a mass deception campaign which the already brainwashed Ukrainian diaspora in north America laps up wholesale.

The west is now trying to make this an issue about “invasion” and illegal and legal intervention. This is the height of hypocrisy and laws simply do not matter anymore. The mass murderer Obama has already arranged a coup and it must be responded to.

Austerity is already being promised in Kiev and like everywhere it comes with massive privatization and plunder of public goods. This article on the rape of the Royal Mail in London is a showcase example of what is intended for Ukraine and other US client states:

Ukraine’s unrest is simply the result of being the next stop on the global neo-liberal class war and has nothing to do with alleviating the poor, democracy or freedom for its people.

Lets hope this situation is resolved peacefully but it seems unlikely considering Obama’s blood thirsty appetite.

The Revolution game…

Every once in a while I come across a book, an author or work of art that makes me happy. That makes me feel as if I am not alone or crazy for thinking the way I do. That I do not need to be some “conspiracy nut” because I questioned what must surely be the truth!

Read this beautifully written piece by Andre Vltchek:

Sleepy Hobbits should wake up.

Sleepy Hobbits should wake up.

A hollow empire of riches

There used to be a time when countries had honor, dignity, valour and a conscience. A time when man had purpose and meaning. When despite the harshness of the world around us it only made us stronger, more resolute, resistant and humble. A time when you fought for honor, truth and justice. A time when countries went to war on principle, in spite off and with heads held high.

Man would protect his domain for a righteous king, clan, community, family and then himself. In that order. When you would gallantly walk in the midst of danger to stop evil because that was the duty of the righteous. A force for good where evil met a determined, hardened, resolute, passionate and ever resistant opponent.

Lets blame it on poor people…

This is the most outrageous list I have read in a long time. Not only was it written by a Bible thumping nut job it was heavily criticised on twitter leading to an evangelical defense and eventual closure of the comments section.

Lets blame the poor for a corrupt system

Here in NZ the elite paints the poor (on benefits) as drug abusing low lifes and did mandatory drugs tests on 22,000 of them. Only 22 refused the test while the remaining were negative for drugs. The poor are overwhelmingly poor around the world because of a corrupt system of greed. Neo-liberal capitalism and the quest for wealth for the sake of wealth is to blame.

There is much good, potential and hope in the world and it will be evident even more when uncontrolled capitalism is stopped.

Why bitcoin matters?

We have all heard of it by now and have our opinions on it. But this article goes a long way in summing up all the information in a pleasing aesthetic way :)

Teaching or influencing ?

Whats the one on the top left?

Whats the one on the top left?

In Southern Germany over 80,000 people have said no to LGBT education in schools. While Europe embraces its diversity it also values its individual freedoms. Almost more than what society might deem right or wrong. You cannot buy the individual conscience with an aggressive campaign forcing culture down someone’s throat.

This does not mean being gay is wrong, not at all. My gay friends and I agree that the “culture” being promoted in the US is almost Gay++. It is being pushed down peoples throat without debate or consideration. In this particular case I see no problem with parents not wanting to have their children exposed to other forms of sexuality at a young age.

If a child naturally does prefer men over women or vice versa then that is a-ok. It is fine but I see no gain from teaching it at school.

Erich Fromm* believed that freedom was an aspect of human nature that we either embrace or escape. He observed that embracing our freedom of will was healthy, whereas escaping freedom through the use of escape mechanisms was the root of psychological conflicts.

Fromm outlined three of the most common escape mechanisms: automaton conformity, authoritarianism, and destructiveness.

Automaton conformity is changing one’s ideal self to conform to a perception of society’s preferred type of personality, losing one’s true self in the process. Automaton conformity displaces the burden of choice from self to society.

Authoritarianism is giving control of oneself to another. By submitting one’s freedom to someone else, this act removes the freedom of choice almost entirely.

Lastly, destructiveness is any process which attempts to eliminate others or the world as a whole, all to escape freedom. Fromm said that “the destruction of the world is the last, almost desperate attempt to save myself from being crushed by it”.

What do you think?

*Erich Fromm source wikipedia.
